As Scale's first Headcount and Capacity Planning Lead, you will be responsible for owning the end-to-end Operations staffing & capacity planning processes, working alongside leadership to ensure that we are able to effectively deliver against business priorities while balancing team member needs. You will own top-level Operations KPIs and have a wide-ranging set of responsibilities: from partnering closely with Sales to understand the nuances of upcoming engagements, to planning resources & anticipating capacity / utilization with Operations leadership, to analyzing staffing patterns and developing strategies for optimizing team staffing. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn about the entire spectrum of Scale's products & offerings, as well as how the technical and operations team interact with them.

You will:

  • Lead the end-to-end staffing process for Operations and develop strategies to improve / optimize the staffing process.
  • Own and drive Operations KPIs (e.g., capacity, utilization, productivity) including developing standard headcount and capacity operating models that help Scale scale.
  • Work cross functionally with stakeholders across Scale (Operations, Sales, Engineering) to develop a deep understanding of business priorities, sales pipeline, and available resources.
  • Evaluate trade offs and make staffing decisions that balance the needs of the business alongside the development needs and goals of Operations team members.
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual Operations headcount planning & budgeting processes that feed broader company planning.
  • Work with Operations leadership to translate business needs into specific hiring and talent strategies for Ops.
  • Drive other initiatives related to Ops team members.

Ideally you'd have:

  • 4+ years of experience in tech or consulting / professional services, with a focus on capacity planning, staffing, and talent development.
  • Keen interest in people, and the ability to build trust-based relationships with a wide range of colleagues.
  • A strong orientation towards driving outcomes, and experience building process and aligning cross-functional stakeholders with differing priorities.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to clearly articulate and defend decisions against stakeholder pushback.
  • Comfortable with qualitative and quantitative analyses, including presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
