About this role

We're searching for a Head of Corporate Development to drive meaningful growth through identifying and executing acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships aligned to our strategic priorities.

The position will report to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with other senior leaders across the company to proactively identify relevant opportunities to supplement organic company growth. This person will be responsible for leading the deal structure process, diligence and valuation of potential acquisitions and strategic investments while building and leading a world class team.

The right person for this role is a self starter, who is passionate about developing and generating new ideas for Faire's business.

What you'll do

  • Analyze and understand Faire's strategic objectives, as well as industry trends to identify, recommend and pursue companies/technologies that can meet those objectives
  • Leverage deep understanding of business needs and partnerships with Engineering, Product, Design and Data to surface and pursue alternate approaches to accomplishing Faire's goals
  • Lead the diligence and valuation of potential acquisitions and strategic investments to drive durable advantage for Faire
  • Identify and educate Faire leadership on new, innovative technology trends and markets, and recommend high-potential acquisitions and investments
  • Recruit, scale and lead a high performance team spanning Business Development and Corporate Development
  • Map out areas of future growth best addressed through relationships with external parties

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in relevant roles including M&A investment banking, private equity and/or venture capital ideally in the technology space, or financial/analytical roles in high growth technology
  • Extensive understanding of partnerships and M&A including strategic rationale, synergy capture, risk mitigation and all phase of deal processes
  • In-house experience in a relevant role a plus
  • International experience a plus
  • Fluency in performing rigorous financial analysis
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and develop a course of action
  • Experienced people leader
