Remote Wordpress Developer with Performance Optimization Experience

We are looking for aWordpress Developer with Performance Optimization Experience to join Scalable Path to work on a client project. This is a remote, part-time position (approximately 4 hours/day).

CLIENT COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

The client is a fintech company providing loans to small business owners. The Wordpress site is used for marketing and lead generation. The client focuses on the Spanish-speaking market and their app uses localization in Wordpress and Laravel to serve the site in both English and Spanish

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be analyzing the client's Wordpress-based website using Google PageSpeed Insights and then implementing performance and UI improvements in order to improve load times and user experience in order to improve the client's SEO ranking. The client's Wordpress site uses custom, responsive templates and you will need to be comfortable optimizing these templates (particularly for mobile). You may need to do things like moving static assets around, cleaning up the JavaScript and making sure pages load without unnecessary resources.

RELATIONSHIPS - WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH:

Your will be reporting to the CTO. There is an existing daily meeting at 10:00am America/Los Angeles (-08:00) PST.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Excellent English communication skills

- Experience optimizing web pages for Google PageSpeed Insights

- Experience optimizing websites for mobile devices

- PHP (Wordpress)

- HTML

- CSS

- JavaScript

As soon as possible.

EXPECTED CONTRACT DURATION:

1-4 months

HOURLY RATE:

The pay rate for this role is from $30 to $50 USD per hour, depending on experience and capability.

NOTES:

The client is open to someone working part-time or full-time. The project would likely last 1-2 months at full-time or 2-4 months at part-time. Standup meetings are at 10am Pacific Time (PT) each weekday except on Monday when the meetings are at 1pm PT.
