About the Partnership Team

We're a startup within a startup. We incubate new products and business models to make sure Thumbtack continues to be the most innovative marketplace for homeowners and professionals to get work done. Our team is self-contained and cross functional between engineering, product, design, analytics, growth and marketing. This structure allows us to move fast and experiment with new ideas rapidly.

We want to test ideas that will drive net new, high intent Homeowners to Thumbtack with jobs to be done and we'll also encourage the best in class Pros in the Homeservice space to build out their profiles and their businesses on our platform. We will do this by expanding where and how Thumbtack can create value by putting our experience on complementary sites/platforms, integrating into existing workflows, and leveraging third-party offerings to enhance Thumbtack engagement.

We are also responsible for maintaining and growing existing lines of business that were previously created within this group which represent a significant percentage of overall revenue.

About the Role

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you'll focus on bringing the Thumbtack Partnership Team's vision to life. You'll collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to execute on a broad range of projects. This could include building new full stack features to improve the experience of our partners or architecting infrastructure (public facing Partner APIs) from ground up to enable us to get to our vision of building a self-serve marketplace for our partners.

Responsibilities

Become the subject matter expert in partnership and growth technology
Drive engineering projects to completion, with a tenacious focus on the business impact of those projects. Skilled at prioritizing tasks to deliver on goals with a sense of urgency
Solve tough technical problems at any level of the stack, and be persistent in getting to the solution, whether it involves back-end, or infrastructure work
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to plan and execute on engineering projects

What You'll Need

Minimum of 3+ years of industry experience in engineering
You're fluent in at least one major front-end and one back-end programming language and would be able to switch between multiple languages. In our stack, we mainly use Go, Python, Scala, Php, React, Swift, Kotlin, and Java
You have solid experience building software on top of relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL
You know what it means to write high quality, maintainable, testable code, and you enjoy doing it
You can break down complex problems rigorously and understand the tradeoffs necessary to deliver great, impactful products
You're curious, you're data-driven, you love to ask questions, and you think critically about problems

Experience or knowledge in growth or partnership domains
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment

Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.

For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $140,000 - $180,000. Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
